WHO & WHY
Working as solitary artists in our studios can sometimes feel isolating. The spirit of Alford Artists Collective is to support each other and the evolution of our work, offer input and critique, and create a nurturing network of fellow artists, friends, neighbors and colleagues.
The Collective hosts an annual Open Studio Tour in the town of Alford, a pristine hamlet outside of Great Barrington, Massachusetts in the heart of the Berkshires. The open studios event is a curated, private, informal organization. It is not affiliated with the town of Alford. The group has grown through personal association and awareness of other active creative professionals who live and work in Alford, Massachusetts. This year we are hosting six additional guest-artists, a total of 15 artists.
We maintain this website as an anchor and hub for information on the Open Studios Tour, provide artist contact, showcase artist-member portfolios (whether they are participating or not in opening their studios) and feature our guests artists with their own page.

The participating artists for 2025:
Dai Ban sculpture
Naomi Blumenthal ceramic sculpture
Christine Casarsa painting
Kristen Palazzo painting works on paper
David Rubman wood sculpture
Beth Schaeffer jewelry
Julie Scott painting printmaking objects
Ruth Seidler painting
Shira Toren painting
The Open Studios showcases the process of creating new work, work in-progress and older work that has served as reference for new bodies of work. We hope the Open Studio event provides a rewarding and culturally-enriching experience for the community and ourselves.
We will host our one-day Alford Open Studios Tour on August 31 (Sunday only, Labor Day Weekend) from 11am-4pm. The entire studio tour is within a one-mile radius. We look forward to welcoming the community to our studios and to our beautiful little town.
Hope to see you soon,
Alford Artists Collective
